Xinjiang lies in hinterland of the Eurasian continent and adjourns countries in central Asia, south and west Asia, functions as a key gate and base for China’s opening up. And it is an important base for large-scale oil and gas production, oil refining and chemical development, oil reserves and engineering and technical services in China. There are four major oilfields in Xinjiang, namely Xinjiang Oilfield, Tarim Oilfield, Northwest Oilfield, and Tuha Oilfield, and two of them are among the top 10 oilfields in China.
The 2025 work report of Xinjiang emphasizes accelerating the construction of the "Ten Major Industrial Clusters" in Xinjiang, which are driven by industries such as oil and gas, clean and efficient utilization of coal, new power systems, green mining, advanced manufacturing, and new materials.
Deep and ultra-deep reservoirs have become the main battlefields of China’s new oil and gas discoveries. As the main production area for deep and ultra-deep reservoirs in China, Xinjiang has abundant deep oil and gas resources.
China Deep and Ultra-Deep Oil and Gas Development Forum had been held concurrently with cippe Xinjiang for 2 years, and the third edition will be held on 18 July 2025.
The Forum will mainly focus on topics of deep and ultra deep well development and engineering technology.
